This kitchen project was part of an extension. Initially working off professionally hand drawn architectural drawings which is almost unheard of in the technical digital world these days. We re-drew the room and designed using our own 3D cad software. To enhance the feeling of space we designed only a few tall cabinets leaving as much wall exposed as possible, this balances well with the pitched ceiling. The kitchens traditional style featured a raised and fielded panel face framed door which was finished by hand brushing. Door furniture is pewter. The expansive island was designed to have everything at hand to use as a main cooking preparation area, breakfast area for two and one to one homework for children. The island is also useful to serve meals to the dining table area. The kitchen also featuring a large full mantle housing condiments and spices for cooking in behind the doors, a larder preparation area with a horizontal window, this window was positioned to allow enough room for the shelf and the jars of spices and enough room for a prep area below the shelf.
